The Method For Classification Of Plastic Sheets Or Bar Materials As 94hb Grade Flammability Is Based On The Determination Of Horizontal Burning Characteristics Of The Material Under Test.

In This Test, A Bar Specimen Is Held At One End With Its Longitudinal Axis Lying In A Horizontal Plane.  A Flame Is Applied To Its Free End For A Specified Duration Of Time And Removed. Time And Extent Of Burning Are Measured To Evaluate The Horizontal Burning Characteristic Of The Material Under Test.
The Globe Flammability Tester (horizontal Burning Test) For Determination Of Horizontal Burning Characteristic Of Plastic Consists Of A Drought Free Enclosure, An Arrangement To Hold A 127 Mm Square Wire Gauge And The Test Specimen From One End With Its Longitudinal Axis Lying In A Horizontal Plane And Its Traverse Axis Inclined At 45, A Burner To Apply The Flame At The Tip Of The Test Specimen, Arrangement To Incline The Burner To 45 And To Move It So That Its Tip Can Be Brought Vertically Below The Free End Of The Test Specimen, A Pre-set Type Digital Timer To Measure The Time Of Application Of Flame, And A Digital Time Interval Meter To Measure The Flaming Times.
